cholesterol results to be mailed.

OK, now who's going to chime in and say their resting heart rate is 19?

Me too. As worked up as I stay about stuff, my resting has always been in the mid to high 40s. Unfortunately, I get to around 200 on a hard ride. :dead: As I lose weight, if it ever happens, I hope that drops.

mine is low 40's. When I had my knee surgery and was in the recovery room and woke up, the nurses were eyeing me suspiciously and finally asked me what my resting rate was. They thought I was having complications related to the drugs because my heart rate was around 40. hahaha - I assured them that was normal.

Baboon....did they say anything about this? Mine BP is generally right around 120/70 and they're always telling me it's borderline high. Did they say anything to you about it?

No, they didn't say a word. I would like to get that first number lower.

He wears short shorts!!!

My RHR is around 58. and my bp is around 130 / 70. <- edit: I might be remembering that BP number wrong. Whenever I check it at the pharmacy it's right in the middle of the OK range.

dunno what that is. i've measured my 'first-thing-in-the-morning' rate a couple of times, and it was 52 (though by concentrating about slowing my breathing, i got it to 39; strange). for daylight, at-rest conditions i've never measured it but it's probably 15-20 bpm more?

After several cups of coffee sitting around the office I got a 50. Like Narlus said could probably lower it a few beats by focusing on relaxing.

This weeks schedule has me in hours and hours of boring meetings. I think I will practice lowering my heartbeat. I want to see if I can make it beat upon concious command.

I can do that by breathing out very slowly. However the decrease is negated by inhaling. It actually speeds up when I breath in.

I measure the time between beats for 60 beats, remove any measurements outside a 6 sigma standard deviation average and then invert.

btw-your blood pressure can vary a lot(10 to 15 points) between readings just minutes apart especially systolic.
