Well a blast was had by most.. Blue Mountain did it again by setting up a realy fast, really fun snow couse. It was set up 4x style with jumps, step ups, tables, rollers and drops.. It was a great. I wish we had more races like that every year...
I unfortunatly do not have any picts for anyone to see, but if anyone finds some picts please post them.. I need/want to see them..
Now a more serious note... This is why I do not like the sport (At times). One of the guys at race was doing really well up till this point.. The crash.. This had to have been the worst thing I have seen- this poor guy was doing very well in the race till he hit the step up... On a hardtail ( I believe) the rear wheel tapped the top of the step up.. it kicked him up and over the bars ( he was about 10 feet up or so) and he hit the ground like a lawn dart. Very ugly to watch.. When he hit the ground it knocked hit out cold and he slid across the Ice.. There was movement after a few moments but he did not get up. He was taken off the mountain by ski patrol and then flown out by life flight.. For me it was very hard to continue after watching this all happen... very sad... Now the better news.. the last report I heard was that he had movement for both legs and arms and they were looking at a lower back fracture... Hopefully he will be ok... If you know this guy wish him the best for me and please give an update...
