No 7" is too much in my opinion. Remember the tt is a small 21.75 inches with 5" fork.

You have to be very small to fit the bike with a 7".

I think the travel is around 6.5 or something...

well i'm 5' 6" so i think i'm versatile enough for that setup. This info will encourage to jump on the deal i encountered; I got a great deal for a complete setup. The deal is less than the frame kit so i'm gonna jump on it.

WHAT!!! who is selling their fq? or why? or how? and why on earth would they not want to just give it me for crying out loud? sheesh!! some people.

tanker, i encourage you to contact brooklyn directly with your spec/tech questions. because while you may just be the 13th most fortunate person on the planet, it would royally suck if you're set up wasn't condusive to the bike's performance. (i personally would downhill on that bike by the way, though not under all circumstances.)

good luck this w/e joel. i was hoping i could pull it together to hit final descent but it's not looking good with IB the following week and all this furschtunken work piling up on my desk.

off to pout now.

sincerly,
mini-less me

Joel's heel is almost as ugly as those Hanebrinks.

So Joel, that kinda looks like medical malpractice. Maybe your doctor's insurance company should buy you a race link.

I know youre kidding but Na, im just glad to have a foot - seriously. it was not looking good there for a while. I love my doctors. Shlt does happen sometimes and infection is a real possibility in any surgery or even a small cut.

i could not use a RL anyway.

Why could you not use a RL?

Good to know you've recovered. It would majorly suck to have a foot amputated. Life is a right bastard sometimes.

i thought the FQ's are 6" in the rear. Question is can u run a 7" up front or it'll mess up the angle?

I run a 6" fork up front and am 5'5, and I would recommend against going with anything that has more than 6" up front, just because it hacks up the front so high. I can still lower my fork since it's a DTC to be closer to the height of a 5" fork, and to me it feels perfect that way, but i can also lift my front end up to be almost at the height of a 7" fork and it will start throwing off the angles at that point... I do run a 26" wheel in the front however, so if you ran a 24 in the front it might put you back where i'm at, but i also know most new DTC forks are not height adjustable (i.e. everything is stupidly pressed on), so it all depends. All in all I think the travel of the fork in itself wouldn't be the problem, just the ride height.

Christian - <--just got a get out of jail free card :D:thumb:

just wondering, but what BMW riders went to plattekill last weekend?
Not I, but I bet some of those Bklyn race junkies were on the scene. You?? If so, Got pic? Didja nightride? How were Alexis'zzz fireworks?

Joel, you slay me.

Shortbus, hi. Great news of the acquittal. Had a hard time picturing you sporting the orange jumpsuit...clinging onto the bars...peeking through the tiny peep hole window...dreaming of your mini and your Porsche.

achully the mofos didn't drop the charge at all, just the jail time and license suspension. Which means that if i get caught doing 5mph over the speed limit again i get a free set of orange over-alls. :p

oh - while i was busy avoiding doing work this morning, i finally weighed the tmx - 49lbs! not too bad for what it is, i guess.
Who cares what it weighs? Once you settle onto a bike it doesn't really matter. You and the bike just... connect. You get me?

actually, i was pleasantly surprised @ the weight - given that lots of these are pushing 60. i do confess to being a weight weenie, though.
My M1 was 50lbs, my Super 8 was 54lbs and the TMX = 59.9 lbs!! I someday want a low 40 lb bike. That would be nice!
