If you'd like, i'll pull my cranks off and measure the axle and tell you exactly what spacers go where so you can get it back together - if that helps any ???Eddie_Lad said:quck question everyone, ive had my racelink a good while now, and ive allways wondered why my swingarm and my frame are different numbers, my frame being #34 and the swingarm #31? ime ususure if this was just a mistake, its meant to be like that, or its been replaced at some point in its life. i know adys is the same both swingarm and frame... any help appreciated
and also when rebuilding last night, i was putting my right crank (non-driveside) back on the axle, remembering that it used to have a load of spacers on, i just plonked them on and thought no more, untill ady pointed out that the axle stud was miles away from the frame, instead of like the other one being as close as possible. so i took it all off and tried it without spacers, and discovered it wouldnt tighten, due to the axle being too damn long, now ime surprised at this, because i was under the impression that there were no axles wider than racelinks, but mine appears to be even wider... any idea where i can get a "normal" or shorter axle from, i will go measure it when i take my cranks off next time

Super ncie pic !macmx said:Just wanted to post this. It is sooo awesome. Best DH pic of all time. Props to Brian Pierce.
my RL is not built yet. i was using the internet to find the weight of all the parts that i might put on my bike and they all added up to 49 pounds. that's all. it was a quite Saturday night on the web.Eddie_Lad said:i read yours was near 50lbs, something i find very hard to believe(saying this though i slung the frame over my shoulder when i was walking to my van last night and i found it pretty bloody heavy)
didnt plan too good back when i signed up by using my full name. it's bothered me for a while. appealed to have my name changed. and that's that.rockymt21 said:What happened to the username Joel?Dan
alright you guys have me convinced. its worth a shot. im sure there wont be a problem as mike said, i'll just get used to it. i think tho on my race link im definitely running 26's. Is that what you are running as well Joel?Jimmy_Pop said:i have run dual 24's on my last 2 bikes and love em.
I guess im dumb or something. all the talk to HT angles, BB height, it doesnt seem to matter too much. i cant tell a difference. if i feel comfortable sitting on the bike, i can ride it. i have to have the handlebars, stem, seat and pedals all in a certain place. if you look at all my previous bike's profile shot, they are all about the same. it's all my feel. i dont set up a bike with a protractor. Im sure that shows my ignorance.
The height of the TMX allows you to run 24's without bangin pedals in the ground. i like the arrow rim and tire combo cause they give you nearly 26" inches of height (25.75 inches) but lots more side wall of tire than the standard issue 26x2.35.

I never ship anything until funds clear according to MY bank. Regardless of method of payment.rockymt21 said:Guys, I think I sold my bike. The buyer is in England, how should I do the transaction? I was thinking have him wire funds to my bank account from his, is that safe? I would let the bank I go to deal with all that ****. Ive hear Western Union is really sketchy. And I dont wnat to have to wait for a check to clear...

no, but that'd be super slack. i'd reccomend the 26's.macmx said:Does anyone have experience with running 26x24 on a RL with an 8" fork?
depends how serious you are. 26's are faster rolling & there's a much better selection of tires to choose from. though the fact you're rollling a tmx suggests you're not totally obsessed with having the most cutting-edge world-cup ready race machine, so if you've got a good set of 24's allready...dropthebreak said:Hey i just picked up tmx #54 over the weekend and i was wondering if i should keep the 24" wheels on it if i dh race?
and with those dorados it feels like crap....end of! 8" suits a racelink, (FOR ME!)AR_ said:Edds Racelink with dorado's is bloody tiny in comparison to mine with 888s. Both dual 26"s, but if your after small, the dorado in 7" would be great. You don't notice the loss of an inch anyway.
