Your mate JimBob has probably got his accents confused and mistaken a liverpool accent for an Irish one. BTW I'm the one who owns Chas' TMX, he sold it to me a year or two back.

Nice review tmx, I don't think I'll be replacing my TMX with a RL though. It's nice having a piece of mtb history, and apparently people are still asking Ged if he can get TMX's.
Anyway I've got the mini now as well, so all the bases are covered!!!!!!

Chas must be the guy, it sure sounds like him. He must have mentioned riding in Dublin or something to confuse Jim Bob (which wouldn't be too hard).
Chas's friend is the creator of "Danger Mouse", that is where the costume is coming from.
Chas should get himself a computer so he can share his triumphs over gravity as well as common sense. :D

Alright guys, lets talk gear set ups.

1st of all...I was wondering if it was possible to run Deity cranks on my Racelink's Profile Spindle, the Deity cranks are 48 tooth spindle and I am pretty sure Profile's are aswell. The reason I want to run them is because Eric over at Deity hooks me up and I like his products.

2ndly...I was wondering what you all thought of the driveside chainring or whichever would be comperative to the front chainring on a regularly geared bike. I had a 40 tooth on my V10, The cassette was a 11-32 tooth. I liked this gear set up a lot. I was wondering what the gearing with the stock ring that comes with the frame and my 32-11 tooth cassette will be comperative to on a regular bike.

3rdly...Deity once again...They also sell chainrings, anyone know if this will work on the Race link, it also is 48 tooth 4x104. It comes in 32, 36, 38 and 40 tooth rings, are all of these too big? From the looks of it the rings on the race linke look small...

Thanks, Dan

Dan, hop on over to the Brooklyn UK site, there is already a thread concerning gear ratio setups for Brooklyns, how to calculate and such. The 'drive' sprocket on a Brooklyn is more inline with that of BMX sprockets, chainwheels, not chainrings.

Rock'n'rolly, it's the Night Before Thanksgiving here in the States. Most of us dorks troll the monkey during "normal" business hours and if most other biz's are like the one I work for, they all split around 3pm.

Here's a little something to tide (tie??) you over...

Joel,

Sounds sweet! I should be receiving my King rear wheel and Sherman Slider soon. I decided to stay with the Slider. Too much of a hassle to trade with the dude. Plus I think the Slider + has a taller axle to crown height, thats what I am looking for. Now I hope the friggen brake adapter I ordered works with it...

Oh and I just received a pair of Michelin Comp 16 2.8's I snagged for $20 for the set and I received my Selle Italia Flite Gel seat also. Things are looking good!

I imagine it rides nice and plush, but I wouldn't think it'd feel as nimble as a Race Link. And, of course, I'm just guessing...

I tried to sit and pedal the Big Link when I was in the shop, and it feels good. Would love to try it for real riding.

God damn thats the most complicated tmx ive ever seen. Anyone got a black 29.8 Thomson post they could sell? Or whatever size the Race link takes.
