Question for you folks, how much should I sell my FQ for? I'm wanting to get rid of the whole bike and possibley getting as much as I can for it. Part it out? Or sell it whole? How much could I get for it as frame only vs. whole bike? I just can't ride the thing, it's too small.

Since your frame is mint, can BMW or GED take it on consignment and sell it at a discount to the next person who would have otherwise orderd a new FQ frame one under the condition that you use the proceeds to buy a RL?

you'll almost always get more parting out a high end bike like that, you just have to be willing to deal with the hoardes of tire kicking groms. sweet build, btw - too bad it didn't work for you. check out the uk market - seems to be lots of demand for bmw's over there, and the exchange is favorable. good luck finding it a good home!

Only if it was a XL

I don't know if the XL would help me much. That's just got a TT an inch longer right? With me, it's a leg extension problem. If I raise the seat post up to 1.5' it's cool, but then the bike looks ridiculous. If the top tube were mounted 2" higher on the seat tube which would extend the seat tube and the TT, it would be better.

Like many have said, it's essentially a bmx frame with suspension. My bad. I bought a BMX and like an idiot I felt like an ape on it. Then I ordered the BMW without doing the proper research. Well I'm done losing my shirt. I'll probably just keep it and order a RL too since I have so much money lying around

I am in the same boat. I am 6'5" and would love a FQ but the ST is so short. I may get a XL someday and know it is a small bike

i believe this is the most expensive thread on ridamonkey ( except if there is a gold or diamond exchange thread) read your signature: I spend way to much on bikes... do you?. is a little misplaced.or mabye in the right place. BMW's are expensive but worth it. i loved my TMX and love my RL even more. Expensive bike but great bike!!!!!!

You want to be careful though, even tho the mini and the RL look so much alike, they actually are designed for 2 completely different styles of riding. The RL might fit you better but I don't think it would make for example a good urban machine. The angles i think are different and it probably will have too much travel for urban sessions etc...

But what do I know I am pixie dust repreZentin' :p :D

i love my bike for urban as do other folks here. but i have heard a lot of them would like it to be just a little smaller.

short stays 24/24. there's your shorter/smaller.

i would LOVE to have a FQ, but would like it a little bigger then it is now..

Knucks, I agree with Shorty here. Bklyn probably doesn't have a bike for your needs...at the moment. Unless you changed your riding agenda I would discourage an RL. Of course they're your duckets you can spend 'em as you like. :thumb:

leave? well that's not very nice. :nope:

caution with the anti-alum/pro-4130...one never knows when one's favorite bike company might start working with other materials...
