sorry to say, but the saints feel better then any hope brake that i've owned. and with the straitline lever upgrade. i don't get arm pump at all anymore. and there's some hour long down hill rides here.

plus, sold the 6pot hopes, bought 2 sets of saints

can't say i like juicy's. the lever feel is soo weird. and i've had to warrenty more then enough of them here at the shop. 1/5 juicy carbons i've felt/used actually feel good. the Codes are pretty nice. but for the weight/power ratio. saints all the way baby

You could run a normal chain with one half link if it's just to get a lower BB.

i did that for a while. but even with the slight stronger chain i still broke it. found this high end 8spd kmc chain, that even if i hit it. it still pedals smooth.

true with the halflink. i wouldn't have to worry about messing this up. cause it burly. but with the bmx bikes that i've worked on with it. it stretches insanely too much

truer words have never been spoken(with the exception of if/of)... it's amazing how far some folks will go to ensure that every part on their bike is a matching ano colour. Way back in the day, we had the "purple patron" who was a regular at our shop.

I received my frameset back yesterday. I was soo excited to see this thing rolling that i was trying to open the bike box while holding a 3-way and my fork. Anyway, i put them down long enough to thoroughly open & unpack the box.

A big thank you to Chris and Terry for amazing attention to detail and such a great refurbish. Thanks to Craig at avy for sorting my shock.

I moved from 165mm DJ crank arms to new standard sized 170mm. I'm also digging this spline drive chainwheel. No need for a pinch bolt so that solved the LHD crank issue. Maybe i'll try those Ti easton arms someday when i hit the lotto.

Very nice! The sprocket and disc rotors look really good together!

Is there enough splines on a standard axle to fit both the sprocket and crank? Or do you have a special axle?

Can anyone recommend some lightweight cranks for the race link? I have a secondhand RL on the way. (Should ship today!) I think it has 170mm cranks. I usually prefer 165 with my short legs. But of course, I will try the stock items first.

i've already tried them on a dh bike. no good. flex like crazy.

someone else made some Renyolds 853 arms, i want to say it was gusset. just as strong as the 4130 ones, but 35% lighter. and no flex

on my last ride i noticed some rub from the right side chainwheel on the suspension bolt. The bolt sticks out a little bit but I've torqued it down as much as I could. In order to clear the bolt, I reversed the chainwheel on that side...is that correct? The chainwheel has a built in spacer on one side and is flat on the other...which side should the spacer be on, inside, toward the bike, or outside (the way it was previously) facing my leg? I don't want to f up my chainline nor my really sweet bike...not sure why I haven't had this problem before though...

Just built me a Race Link! Got the frame used, from a guy in London. Great condition!

Used most of my components off my old DH-bike. It's about 21kg (46lbs. Ouch!!) My old alu. bike was 19kg...
The BB axle was about 157mm (6.2") Profile lists only 6" or 6 7/8" ti-axles. Which one do you use?

The left hand chain is 1/8, right? Was going to try a half link to lower the BB, but only had a 3/32. Too tight for the upper sprocket...

Have only ridden it on flat ground, but it feels soo nice! The rear appears slightly harder sprung then the fork. It has a #450 spring. Do you think it's ok for 165lbs rider?
Have not played with the compression adjusters yet.

Can't wait to hit the slopes on sunday!!

very very very nice RL !!

I'm using the 6" Ti profile spindle with no problem.

I have used the 6.875" Ti spindle in the past but it took too many spacers and i thought it looked bad. You also have to be careful to align the 28T chainwheel with the jackshaft wheel - so you cant just throw on extra spacers without spacing the jackshaft to match up for proper chainline.

the weight of 46 pounds is not bad at all.

I can see the chain line is so critical cause the chain is so short. On the other hand, the secondary chain is very long!
I predict nice shifting! First time I could backpedal in easiest gear, without any issues at all.

both chains are 3/32

you should look for the 400lbs Ti spring, it may feel better. plus you have the hi and low comp on there to help you along better.

i have a 6" ti spindle aswell. cut down a little.

i think mine is a 1/2 bmx chain on my LHD side. I'd never run a mtb chain again. too much stress. i snapped my stock mtb chain trying to cross a busy road. busted my knee on the bars and fell out in the street. F that. Burly 20" bmx chain all the way.
