I'm looking to get a bmx seat but am noticing that the good ones appear to have 9mm seat rails, and most others have 8mm. I have a thompson seat post and I'm pretty sure it is only recomended for 7mm. Anyone know what diameters are safe/effective to run with this issue in mind?

I've seen plenty of guys (like the Terrible One cats) running Primo seats with 9mm rails on those posts.

Plenty of pros are running those posts with all kinds of seats, and I've never seen any real problems occur... But then, they get the posts for free, so no big loss if something happens.

I run S&M and Profile 9mm seats on my Thomson.
