Okay,

My kick ass bike purchase is in the wings, and with that will come the necessity for body armor. I used some rented gear this past weekend, and it was pretty good. Not sure it fit right though. The shoulders seemed a little wide. What do the more experienced folks here swear by when it comes to body armour?

I know Dainese is the shiznizzle, but it also costs a limb and a half... I realise that armor is not really something you want to go cheap on, but what is the #2 behind Dainese? Is it cheaper?

Just looking for opinions and suggestions here. Thanks

I use strictly Rock Gardn.

It fits really well, fully adjustable, and will take a beatin'. I rode my armor jacket for 2 years before it finally gave up (Zipper do-hickey holder thingy ripped off in a tree hugging incident.).

The jacket is probably a little warmer than a dainese but, it's cheaper and will most likely last through more than 1 high speed crash. The knee/shin combos work awesomely. They've saved me from many a contusion.... The forearm/elbow dealies on the jacket are detachable (this rules for hot days.)

Anyway, check 'em out. Cheaper than Dainese!!

Well I found a good deal on the sixsixone pro pressure suit. My only concern is the shoulder width. My rental stuff from last weekend had shoulder cups that would clip my "chin" on the full face when I turned my head. Kind of annoying.

Actually, the other concern is heat. It looks well ventilated, but hard to tell. I've only seen images of it on the internet, and would be buying it on the internet as well... Perhaps not the best idea, but shops around here aren't really all that well stocked with gear.

I've heard through the grapevine that the early 661 stuff was poorly put together. Anyone have the the pro pressure suit? Any issues with quality?

Thanks.

Couple buddies have them. Rode several days at Whister with them when it was in the 30's (yes, celsius....) They were very very very jealous of the fact that I could take my forearm/elbow part of the jacket off....cause they were complaining of how hot thier jackets were....

Quality-wise: The stuff they had ('06) they were very happy with the build quality. (Read: Held up during off the bike adventures)
