A little travel will be good for the DH. Big bikes are not necessary. Its relatively smooth, just real steep.
As far as super D goes, any XC bike will do. The start is le mans style, ie run to your bike and start racing. There will be a short fireroad climb to try and string it out a bit, then rolling downhill singletrack.
Rain will more than likely cancel the super-D and DH. If the trails are too wet to ride on, then the XC course will change to all fireroad. NOt super exciting for norba racers, but the collegiate racers will need the points and do it anyway.
