much more refined than the peakrider, used by all my peers
The problem I encounter is when portaging is with low-riding packs. If I have a pack that has any material up high, like a traditional camelback, that pads my back/shoulders and it's easy to portage like that. If I'm using a hip pack or low-rider, there's nothing there and it's painful as hell. All of these appear to be for the first situation, which is where you don't really need much else IME. It's that second one that's really a b*tch., motor bikes excluded of course.

Yesterday I exchanged pointless greetings with a dude on an e-bike. I thought I recognized him from somewhere but couldn't quite figure it out. A few minutes later it hit me.

He lives in my neighborhood, last year while I was pulling weeds his dog shit on my lawn and he just walked away. I asked him if he needed a bag to clean it up and he ignored me. I realized he was on a work phone call so I started screaming "clean up your dog shit" as loud as I could, he started walking faster and I chased him down the block screaming to ensure whoever was on the other end of the call could hear.

Sounds like you found a good stereotype for ebikers in your area. :D

So remind me. I can't fly to Canakistan with my guns. That makes sense. Sort of. :) But definitely not with an ebike battery. Right? So I'd need to drive my fancy ebike to Canada for said event? Or make prior arraignments for bike and/or battery?

Sounds like a lot of work. Maybe I should ride the bike park on the regular bike. Skip all festival shenanigans. But then, I'd miss out of all e - shenanigans. Which is the shenanigans I wanted to experience in the first place. Bah.

Plus Imma gonna pistol whip the next guy that says shenanigans. :D (Super Troopers movie quote for those not in the know)

lots of dumb rednecks. but we still have that dirty Canadian socialism, so best stay away.
Well we have plenty of rednecks here. Trust me. Nothing like hearing a gun cock behind you because you are riding through their zone, stopping for some snacks, during hunting season. And "just be sure you don't get shot." :) Literally has happened to me.

Socialism, pretty sure someone on this side of the fence, is working on. I'm pretty sure :)

In the cleavage of the Tetons
Just found out that Jackson Hole Bike Park is allowing e-bikes on the lifts and pretty much all CX and DH trails.
This surprises me.
Definitely going to get a pass for both bikes.
I imagine this will really help bike patrol/etc manage injuries a bit faster.

That is surprising. Maybe more will follow.

A buddy of mine tried to get his eeb on a lift at Snowmass. They said no ebikes on the lift.

Fuck yer conformist rules Woo.
I'm pretty well known for being a conformist.

If you'll remember I was one of the first advocates of 29" wheels, boost hub spacing, and fanny packs. As well as just blindly accepting any new technology the bike industry tells you you need.

It's just who I am. I'm a follower, what can I say?

Quit being a pussy and pedal your fucking bike. If you want a motor to give you the impression of pedaling that's something else you should probably work through. They make real motors for when you reach peace with yourself. And they're a hell of a lot more valuable than some hybrid to convince yourself you're riding a bicycle.
