if i'm not mistaken, the frame takes a 100mm shell/143mm spindle bb. the one which came on my bike is race face signature series. i think there's a bit of play in teh bearings; can these bearings be replaced, or do you need to buy a whole unit?

and if that's the case, what are my options other than RF? does anyone else make one of these? FSA makes a 100/148, and i can't find any others. any ideas where i can get a race face one for short dollars?

yes the bike takes a 100/143 bb. however the 100/148 bb's that are made by FSA and also truvativ will work fine. I have replaced my bb with the truvativ and have had no problems. another thing that you may want to think about is that raceface is making a new x-type crank for the larger bb width bikes. but i am not sure how soon they will be available to us.
