Im running the latest version XTR cranks & BB, I noticed the other day that when i spin the cranks they only turn about 1/4 of a rotation so im thinking something is up with my BB. I dont have the tool I need to pull the arms but was wondering is this usually just a grease thing or could my BB be gone now

Its external sealed bearing so I would think they would be fine

Get the tool, pull your arms, and see how the bearings feel. If they're rough, you can pry the seals off and add more grease.

Just a tip: Make sure the BB-shell is faced properly. If it isn't your bearings may prematurely wear out.
