I have looked online for instructions on how to install my bottom bracket and theres plenty of info, but i can't find out how to take the non-drive side cup off when the bottom bracket isn't already installed in the bike. How is this done? I have a race face evolve fr bottom bracket.

Non-drive side is regular thread, so just make sure the tool is grabbing good enough, then crank away. There's no reason for the BB spindle to be in there to get the cup out.

A couple of tricks is get as much leverage as you can by extending the length of what your pushing on (adjustable wrench proably) by adding a pipe or something. Hitting the adjustable wrench with a Huffy Tool (hammer) can also help it break loose, but make sure you're not whaling away on it or hit the frame. Get a friend to help you brace the frame too.
