My first visit to this board...I don't know if this documentary has been disscussed yet? Saw it last night. I don't know what to say about it yet, still working it over in my mind. Some very interesting views of the USA, and what people in other countries think of us. I think Moore did a great job on the film. It was very alarming to say the least, really got me thinking.

I will say this much to stir it up,
NRA/Charlton Heston = Crazy Redneck Gun-loving Racist
"from my cold dead hand"

Any comments or thoughts about the film?

"Documentary" = muckraking look-how-clever-I-am bullshi+ for soccer moms and spoon-fed dick-tuckers.
That about cover it?

Not tryin' to jump your case but you might want to tread with lighter fare to start with like politics, religion or abortion. ;)

Touch a nerve? WTF!

Like I said "my first visit to this board" and wasn't sure if this film had been disscussed yet. So, carry on and disregard my thread.....it will be ok! In the future I will check with you before posting:rolleyes:

i love threads like these.

mike67, if you're curious to see what's been discussed, do a search for BfC or Moore threads.

While I will tend to agree more with Moore than, say, your average republican, I hate the way he presents stuff and believe that he only hurts the causes he supports.

Don't sweat it, it's like getting jumped into a gang. :D

It (Bowling for Columbine) was an interesting but flawed movie. Moore had an axe to grind and I would be a bigger fan of the movie if not for the way he dealt with Heston. To Moore's defense it wasn't publicly known that Heston had Alzheimers at that time.

I do think Moore was spot on in his assement that American media has created and fostered a culture of fear. If it bleeds it leads...

Welcome to the dark seedy side of Ridemonkey.

Hahaha. It's all good. Like I said, I'm not trying to bust balls, but your choice of adjectives regarding the NRA was most unfortunate...at least to this lifetime member. Does this bit of background information illuminate for you any reason I might take issue with your comments? Confucious say man should make sure not in biker bar first before say Harley Davidson unreliable and poorly engineered. :D

Not exactly guilty as charged........been lurking for years. Didn't mean to beat that horse! Politics really aren't my thing, I should have known better and used the search feature!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I had a feeling after your first response, there may be a few gun loving mountain bikers around these parts! Didn't mean to generalize........my bad!

I'm all for right to bear arms, but the NRA is filled with a bunch of big sissies that traded in their principles long ago for an excuse to play with shiny deadly "toys."

the best part of the show is when he goes to TORONTO (to visit DURNKEN_NINJA?)

he starts opening doors and doesn't get shot.

i still don't have a point.

As much as I enjoyed the movie that part was total bullsh*t. Funny though.
