How much oil are you guys putting in , my manual says 165 but i have seen guys on this board using 180 and even 200.
on the 7" it was 150mm from the stanchion top w/o spring and with the fork bottomed out.

I have a slight problem.

I seem to have absolutely no rebound on my old boxxer (even after oilchange!) Can Rebound cartridge be assembled wrong? Is there any pictures about the setup?

Could someone post exact information which oil should be used on 2001-2002 Boxxer?

Both sides, weigh, levels, damping settings for compression also etc? (with 2 yellow springs)

Thanks.

- For oil, I use RockOil (personal preference). You should measure the amount from the top of the stanchions when fully compressed instead of measuring by volume.

- 01 and 02 Boxxers take different amounts. Straight wall BoXXer use 110-120mm height or you will lose travel (these are 2002 forks), Taper wall use 90-100mm (2001 forks). 10wt in Compression, 20wt in Rebound.

I would simply follow the service instructions and inspect the Rebound assembly to make sure everything is fine - you might have nicked some of the o-rings in the assembly? Just take your time and inspect everything.

Hey, thanks Acadian!

Actually I forgot to mention that I have -03 internals on 01 and 02 is stock..

But it might be that my oil level is MUCH too low! So it is compressed and and level around 110-120mm.

I´ll try to seek the problem and disturb you again if this is no worky :)

you're welcome..

03 Boxxers take 115mm in both legs. 10wt in Compression. For rebound, you can use 5wt, which would help if you are using stiffer springs. Or you can just stick with the 2.5wt for the lighter, smoother action. This is what I run in mine (03/04).
