Sorry if this has been covered before, I tried a search and couldn't find anything.
Anyway i've just fitted some boxxers to my m1 and the 1 inch drop crown they came with wouldn't reach the fork so now i've fitted a 2" drop crown. The problem is it hits the frame before the fork bumpers. Is there anyway around this or do I just need to put up with it? I was thinking of just using some sort of protector and sticking it to the frame where the crown contacts. The other problem is its fairly reduced the turning circle of the fork. I just dont want my frame bashed if I get nailed.

Any ideas guys?

i just had a similar problem with my azonic recoil. i had a 2" drop crown and it hit the frame before the fork tubes did, so i padded it up and rode. about a week ago i wrecked pretty hard on a large hip jump and turned my handlebars and everything and i found a dent in the toptube. so i got a 1'' crown, and i barely have enough stanction to make it work, but now the fork tubes are hitting the frame like they should and i have a lot more turning radius. anyways, i would be real careful either way you decide to go.

Get some thick tubing, or cut up an old xc tire, and zip-tie it around the drop crown around the area where it makes contact.

The stock bumbers on the boxxer, when rotated to the right point, will make it so that they stop the fork to the point where the crown is only slightly grazing the frame. If you put tubing or a cut tire on the crown, it should be enough to prevent any damage.

You too like the giant headtube on the M1's? I have a shiver on my M1 and it fits but I had to run a spacer under the top crown between the crown and headset. I have some steer showing (incase I ever run a stem) but I might get that cut down as if you're fork will fit a M1 it will damm near fit any other DH bike out there.

I've seen rubber bumpers, tires, grips, tubes, everything cut in half and tied to the fork legs. The bumpers will work if like said they are rotated to the right position. I've also seen some stickes applied to the frame in spots that when it hits it won't dent. The things you buy to put under heavy items in your house to move them when you want to clean etc.... They are sold everywher.

I have DMR? I think rubber bumpers (aftermarket, dunno if they are still around) and they work wonderfully. I might add something to the frame one day if it doesn't look to jerry rigged.

Also you might have to add a spacer under the top crown as well to get the right height adjustment for that top crown. Post a pic of your setup if you can.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think i'm going to try zip tying some cut up tyres to the fork crowns. That should do it. Just dont want to dent the frame.
