I'm looking to switch to a different weight oil in my boxxer. The rebound is too fast in the slowest setting. I weigh 160lbs too. What weight will be best and how high should it be filled (what is stock height, and what is everyone doing?) This will go on a hardtail for the HT class in DH.

- For oil, I use RockOil - but that's a personal choice. You should measure the amount from the top of the stanchions when fully compressed instead of measuring by volume.

- 01 and 02 Boxxers take different amounts. Straight walls use 110-120mm height or you will lose travel (02 forks), Taper wall use 90-100mm (01 forks). 10wt in Compression, 20wt in Rebound

- 03 Boxxers take 115mm in both legs. 10wt in Compression. For rebound, you can use 5wt, which would help if you are using stiffer springs. Or you can just stick with the 2.5wt for the lighter, smoother action. This is what I run in mine.

Not that I'm a BoXXer x-pert like Acad, but I used to run Zoch 7.5 wt in my rebound leg @ the recommended 190 cc's...I never measured oil height, I just used volume...Worked fine for me, and I could make the rebound VERY slow when it was switched all the way to the turtle...But I really never really set it very slow unless I was doing a big drop or something...For DH, I had it fairly fast for most courses...
