For those running the Boxxer on a 1.5 HT, which I suspect very few, is it my frame or does the turning radius just suck some balls? I've got a 66 head angle. Heh, my first DH bike :D

no problem at all. I've run my Boxxer on 3 different 1.5 bikes over the past few years.

hey the steering radius is determined on the frame that you are running the fork on. if the tube on the bike really big like the new ironhorses that steering is going to really suck. if the tubes are small like on the 2003 ironhorses the steering is actually really good for a dual crown fork. if you are coming from a single crown fork the steering is always going to feel bad a first though until you resize that you don't need that much steering on a dh bike in fact most likely you will like that fact that it will not steer that much!

i've got the 04 sgs. it just seems to suck compared to the azonic eliminator. also, does the rebound adjustment work on the 04 race? it doesn't seem to do anything for my fork.

The 1.5 headtube is wider (duh) so the fork will run into it sooner when turning, which means a worse turning radius than a 1 1/8 head tube, but I honestly don't mind it that much, because it's rarely an issue for me--in tight switchbacks, I just start my turn as far outside as possible, and I can practically always turn the bars far enough.

If you think about it, there's an obvious flaw with this logic...:D

here's a hint, if you are rotating about something (like a fork does) you'll never ever be able to "hit" what you are rotating about...you might hit the top/downtube but you'll never hit the headtube...

I think it's implied that the tubing welded to a 1.5" headtube will be larger as well.

it's not necessarily going to be. I have a 1.5" bike and the tubing is not larger than a 1.125 headset, not to mention that the effect of tapering other tube shaping will make it a non-issue as well.

This is especially an issue with the Boxxer when you use the drop crown. The stantions are so close together that there isn't much clearance. A good, albeit expensive solution, is to go with a Romic drop crown. They are lighter to boot.
