I know somehwere there's a thread detailing this but I got couldn't find a definitive answer. Anyway...

I've just bolted together a shiny new Turner DHR with a 1.5 headtube and I find that the drop crown hits the frame way before the rubber bumpers come close. This restricts the turning circle a fair bit.

The low crown needs almost an inch of spacers to clear the 1.5 headset and this raises my bar height too much.

What combinations are other folks running? I'm not sure i can get the Romic crown in Australia.

I ran a Romic but the upper crown still hit before the Boxxer bumpers. I simply got creative with some rubber hose and made bumpers on the crown.

Every DHR i have seen a picture of with boxxers use's the romic crown which is halfway between the flat and drop crown boxxer sizing. It seems the drop is too large and the flat is too small (unless you use an e13 top reducer cup, then it may work).

My mate has a boxxer crown at home. I will measure the drop and ask if he wants to sell.

What drop in cm's do you have at the moment? I had my dhr set up with a dorado drop crown and it didn't hit, and it doesn't hit with a monster T drop crown either. I only have one 4mm spacer under the crown, just enough so it clears over the headset.

You don't want to run 1.5inch's of spacers on top of the already large headset, it will feel like you are driving a truck.

I've got a flat and drop top crown at the moment. The drop crown sits closer to the headset but hits on the frame as you turn. The high crown would probably clear the crown but I'd have to run it with an inch of spacers to clear the headset plus slid the forks raise the forks through the crown and sharpen the head angle. I'll try and dig up some specs on the 2005 Boxxer top crown which is supposed to have better clearance as well as having an integrated stem option.

I run the short crown with E13 HS zero stack...The set up is flawless.

I ran the drop crown while i was waiting for the Romic crown. I didnt have too many spacers between crown and HS.... like 5-10mm (i forget exactly), but it wasnt an inch... I use a FSA headset also... the higher end one.

Can you post a pic of the setup at all? On the short crown I have it doesn't clear the FSA reducer headset I run without about 12-15mm of spacer underneath.

this is what you need to solve the problem
