does anyone know how to get an XT caliper on a '97 Z1? I thought that the mounts on the fork were international standard, but when I tried to bolt up the caliper, it hit the disc before both bolts would go in. It won't even fit the mounts themselves, they are about three milimeters off. If anyone can help, that would be great. If anybody knows of someone who can machine a custom mount that would be keen too.

You have a Formula Standard mount, which is a pretty uncommon one - holes are 49mm c-2-c, and much higher up than IS. I am aware of one adapter that's available, the Hammerhead - made by a guy in the UK who's very cool, I've dealt with him before and highly recommend. http://www.geocities.com/racing_green_uk/HammerHead.html

Alternatively, it would be a simple task to machine one, you'd just need a flat piece of Al, about 5mm thick, and drill some holes in it.
