Y'all can't see me...
Servus!

What, goatee-boy ain't helping ya?!?!?

Anyhow, Jagwire cables and housing are about the slickest, maintenance-free goodie I have ever spent so little money on.

Now, if you would have bought hydraulic, this decision wouldn't be troubling you. ;) :thumb: :D :D :D

For Avid's mechanical discs, I recommend the Straight Jacket housing system by Avid, their Flak Jacket system is also good. The straight Jacket uses thin guage stainless tubes to run the cable through the straight line areas and short pieces of regular type housing to make the bends, therefore reducing friction dramatically. It is also fully sealed from the lever to the caliper so it requires less maintenance. I have used these since november and have been pleased. As an added bonus it is actually lighter than running full housing all the way. They come with detailed directions and retail for just under $40 for the whole kit front and rear. Good Luck!

don't even bother w/ the flat crap system...their cables are ok and the housing is horrible for what it costs. just do yourself a favor and just run regular shimano cables, actually if you can find dura ace cables and xtr housing then you are SET. costs way unless then all the other stuff and if you replace it regularly you shouldn't have any sloppy running derailuers or brakes

HI MBC, sorry to have been a stranger. My $.02: I've run Avids for over a year now, and have yet to have a complaint about the regular ole cables and housings that I use...they cost nothing, and with VERY MINIMAL upkeep have yet to let me down! (the broken cable was 100% my fault tho:stupid: )

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

(btw, I have NO clue what I'm doing but I hear the directions that come with my avids are pretty good - and I have Zinn and some friends that will help if I bribe them)

The name at Jenson is right but the pic doesn't match, it doesn't show or mention the steel housing. I think they are most likely the right ones though. I would call them and ask. as far a Jagwire goes it's not bad, but I have seen the rubber o-rings in the ferrules disintegrate from the cable rubbing back and fourth leaving sticky black gunk on the cable which caused more friction. so if you go Jagwire, keep them well lubed. Or use shimano housing and XTR cable for good results and easy set up.
