As you can tell I am an extreme rookie when it comes to wrenching bikes (hence all of my lame questions)........

so here is my next one......

What is worng with my sticking v-brake?
I have taken it apart & lubed all of the moving parts.
I have cleaned the rim & pad.
I have tightened the spring (the little screw & by slightly bending the long vetical one).
And one side still sticks to the rim creating mega drag.

What else should I try ?

Is it actually sticking to the rim or is it just off center? If it is just off center use the adjustment screws by the brake pivot to center things. If it is sticking to your rim make sure the pad is centered on the rim. If it is too low it can deflect the wheel and catch on the underside of the rim causing some superman otb action. Too high and it can catch on the tire wearing a hole in it. If that doesn't cover it post pictures.

did you check you cables and housing? usually you can just put some Triflow or something like that in where the cable goes into each piece of housing. if your cables are more than a few months old, this should make a huge difference.

thanks for all of the tips. I got it working perfectly now.
I readjusted the pads played with the spring tensioners some more & VOILA!
