I saw that. Don't know much about Brembo. But just assuming it's parent company is a giant financier type investment group. No I'm not going to google it. I've got things to do. Like RM.

In cases like this I just hope the being bought company doesn't lose any QA, innovation, or market advantage (to name a few). I love Ohlins. TBH.

Brembro is high end...I used them on my BMWCCA cars and track cars...very attention to detail and always pushing ahead to be on top of the game..
They do street bike stuff too so it makes sense they would buy Ohlins.. another top tier company ..

I can't see them bagging MTB stuff, that may be why they restructured a few months ago to get in a more streamlined position for the sale

Either way Brembro is solid...

Doggie Dick red calipers would sell like hotcakes!
I would not second guess their product if they felt like entering the bike brake market.
(doubtful, though)

They did do MTB brakes 15+ years back, they were expensive and reviewed poorly, don't believe they had a second shot at it.

Brembro is high end
And low end.

They "quietly" spec a ton of low-end no-frills brakes on lots of cars, apart from their higher end monoblock type calipers like I have on the 1LE.

Besides the cheapie OEM car stuff they also have the ByBre (ByeBre?) brand for their essentially nissin competitor brakes for motorcycles. I'm hopefuly they dont ditch the MTB arm of Ohlins in the quest for infinite growth.

I have some Brembo Cooper S rotors in the garage, they were pretty cheap from memory.

Honestly, probably a step up for the company. They were owned by Apollo earlier, which about as scumbag massive hedge fund as it gets. Brembo buying them is pretty dope.

No idea how it'll effect bikes or what direction Brembo decides to run with, but this is a top tier suspension company moving back into industry ownership to another top tier industry company away from shitty hedge fund management.

Edit: I should add though, I don't know that Apollo really fucked around with them all that much. I think they just bought them during the "we have too much money we need to dump it somewhere" phase of 2021/2022 before the market nosedived and just kinda sat on it for a few years until they could dump it. And for all I know Brembo could gut the mtb side of things. But at face value this seems like the company is moving from unsafe hands to safer hands.

Brembo is really Italian, ferrari or fiat no real middle.

I wonder when Yamaha got away from Ohlins. 2007 i just read.

Always wanted a WR450 two trac.

I am actually thinking ohlins mtb is probably going away.

Automotive industry = safe hands? I think hedge fund might almost be preferable.
Yeah thats fair.

On the other hand I think their MTB division is profitable, and that's usually a pretty good sales pitch for keeping the lights on and the doors open.

Let‘s see how compatible the Swedish and Italian mindsets are.
Usually the pastaboys use their charme, wine and salami to get you in the mood to get you and your business royally fvcked…
Mind you the swedish eat fouling fish from tin cans, so it should even be easier ha! :D

That said, brembo is an Italian institution in the industry so hope for the best and some Brembö stoppers!
