So I was changing the spring on my 4-way Manitou rear shock just now and the blue aluminum rebound adjuster knob snapped off. In Manitou's disassembly manual it says to turn that knob out with an allen wrench, which I did, but I obviously did something wrong because the piece of $hit snapped right off.
I reinstalled the shock and sat on the bike. The shock stuck at full travel and returned very slowly. Wonderful.
This is on a large ~2005 Trek Session7, shock is 8.5"x2.5" (I think).
What can I do to fix this ASAP? I am going to Deer Valley, Utah in a week and a half for 4 days of mountain biking! If I can't fix it quickly myself, I may need to bite the bullet and purchase another shock while I send this one in for repairs.
Any advice? Anyone have a 8.5x2.5 shock for sale?? Thanks!
