The Monster Energy / Specialized / Mad Catz team competed in round four of the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup on Sunday in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada. Junior world champion Troy Brosnan of Australia raced to an impressive sixth place in the combined elite and junior field.

Brosnan finished just 6.126 seconds behind winner Aaron Gwin and was the highest placed junior rider. He was racing on a technical course where he had claimed the world championship title last September. Though still slick in places, the course had dried out substantially from practice earlier in the week. Nonetheless, the difficult course claimed many victims who crashed or suffered mechanicals.

Great Britain's Brendan Fairclough put in a solid ride to finish 21st in the finals, 11.179 seconds behind the winner.

Following this round four of the World Cup, Brosnan and Fairclough are ranked 13th and 49th, respectively, with 314 and 118 points. Brosnan also remains atop the junior World Cup standings.

The team's usual top performer, Sam Hill, was not competing. The reigning elite downhill world champion recently crashed and injured his shoulder and is presently recovering from surgery to repair the ligaments in his shoulder.

Despite being down one rider, the team placed seventh overall on the day.

In the downhill qualifying run on Friday, Brosnan clocked the 12th best time and Fairclough finished 17th.

The Monster Energy / Specialized / Mad Catz racers, minus Hill, will compete in the World Cup again next weekend in Windham, New York on July 9-10.
