Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay Info Kiosk August 25

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Info Kiosk on Saturday, August 25 near the Bigtrees Trailhead in Joaquin Miller Park.

We will be leading a group ride of Joaquin Miller and Dimond Canyon Parks starting at 9:30am and depending on turnout and weather potentially another one at 12:30.

We could really use some help on August 25 in volunteer staffing our informational Kiosk and potentially leading other group rides or instructional classes. Group ride leaders or class teachers need to be BTCEB members in order to qualify for our indemnity insurance but other participants do not.

The main purpose of the Kiosk is to meet and greet trail users. We will be set up at the trailhead at the Bigtrees staging area of Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland. It is a popular trailhead and the perfect place to listen to opinions, get feedback, offer trail assistance, teach good trail etiquette and pass out free Clif bars and cold water.

The event will run from 9am to 3pm but may be cut short if the weather becomes too hot.

If you are capable of helping at the Kiosk for a 3-hour shift (from 9-12 or 12-3) you can also participate in a group ride at 9:30am or 12:30pm.

It’s an easy task. You get to meet people and have a good time and experience trails you may never have ridden before. At the end, we’ll have a BYOBBQ!

If you are interested in the group rides but not the volunteering, please RSVP via email (dan@btceb.org) or phone (925-383-7436).

The next Info Kiosk will be at Lake Chabot Regional Park on September 22. Please mark your calendars!

Red Bull has given us a small donation for our Info Kiosk volunteers. We will have a small amount of Red Bull and Sugarless Red Bull on hand to give our endeavor wings!

Helmets are required. Significant Rain within 24 hours cancels. Rain on event date cancels.
