In June we started clearing overgrowth on the trail. We cut back almost all of it down one side of the trail. We will return to Chaparral to trim back more overgrowth in preperation for more trail work during the fall. So come on out and give a little bit back to the mountain biking community in the East Bay.

In June we started clearing overgrowth on the trail. We cut back almost all of it down one side of the trail. We will return to Chaparral to trim back more overgrowth in preperation for more trail work during the fall. So come on out and give a little bit back to the mountain biking community in the East Bay.

Just a quick follow up for those who might be interested. We had a small turn out on Saturday, but they were all hard working folks. We finished removing the broom on the one side of the trail. We then worked up the opposite side of the trail clearing overgrowth near the water bars. There were also two short sections were a burm has been built up. We removed the vegetation growing on top of the burm. We will be back later in the fall to break the burm down so that winter rains won't run down the trail tread creating deep ruts. I'll post that date here when it gets confirmed.
