When the BTCEB inquired of the staff of Mt. Diablo what it would take to maintain the bike legal singletrack on the mountain, it was recommended that we attend one of their trailwork days to become familiar with the tools and practices of working on trails in a State Park. This opportunity led us to organizing a trailwork day with Jeff Beech on August 12 (this Saturday).

Hello everybody-
Let's plan on meeting at the Service yard at 8:30AM this Saturday, 8/12, for work on (shhhhh!) Secret Trail.
Most of you know where the Service Yard is, for those who don't...
If you enter through SOUTH GATE, go past ROCK CITY just a short distance, and it will be on your right, plainly marked.
If you enter through NORTH GATE, proceed to JUNCTION, turn right, go about two miles, the SERVICE YARD will be on your left.
Carpool if possible, remember plenty of water, lunch/snacks, sunscreen, and a hat is a good idea. We look forward to seeing everyone. Call or e-mail with any questions.

As a note, the Secret trail is not open to bikes (yet). The purpose of this trailwork is to become familiar with the practices of the State Parks trail maintenance. Anyone attending will become qualified for leading trailwork on Mount Diablo, which in the future will include the bike legal singletrack trails!

I hope you'll join us!

Slight change of plans for those that were joining us out on Diablo tomorrow. We will not be working on Secret trail, but instead we will be working on Oak Knoll.
