all right i need a build kit, and i was thinking along the lines of these

XTR, but don't like the dual control brake levers (is there a way around this)
Sram, do they have any XC race build kits similar to that of shimano XTR.

included above would be, shifter, F/D, R/D, cassette, cranks, Brakes, and brake levers.

Yes, with XTR, you can opt to use the rapid fire shifters and the regular levers. With Sram, you have the choices of x.9 and x.0, both are on par with XTR roughly, X.0 is carbon. . .and more expensive.

I wouldn't go for a whole xtr build kid. To me I'd rather run xtr but with xt shifter pods and front derailleur. Shifter pods are prone to breaking, and will save minimal weight if upgraded and the front derailleur doesn't need to be as precise as the rear. But hey thats just me.

Seems to work better than any Shimano I've ever encountered.

SRAM front derailluers have fit issues on some frames. Maybe you just don't know how to adjust a Shimano correctly, they work fine.

Fits fine on my Kona. Fit fine on my Trek.

Shimanos work fine. But hey, a butterknife works fine for steak, but that doesn't mean I prefer to use one.
