I'm getting ready to build a bike. :dancing: I'm wondering if there is any particular suggested order to putting it together. I'm having the headset cups, and BB professionally prepared and installed. The rest is up to me. I'm thinking install fork and stem, cranks, cassette and rotors on wheels, Brake calipers (mech), derailleurs, bars, levers, shifters, cables, pedals, tune. Ride. I probably ought to put a chain and wheels on there too. I guess I'll figure it out. Just curious. Thanks.

Yea a chain and wheels would be nice.... haha. Sounds like alot of work ahead of you, but it is prob so worth it.

You should have the bars set in place before cutting housing or brake line for the brake levers and shifters.

Other than that, rock out!

After fitting the seatpost to clamp in the workstand I usually start with the headtube/fork, then the bb and drivetrain parts, then the brakes and then the controls. Finish up with the contact points, saddle, grips and pedals. If rim brakes are used I leave the tires off until after I align the brakepads.

When I first started wrenching, the advice was "make it look like a bike" first, then go from there. So, since you are starting off with the BB and HS, cranks, fork, them stem HB and controls wold be a natural order.
Basicaly what Dartman said.
