Hey, I'm getting a bullit pretty soon, I finaly have the money saved up, and i'll be ordering it within the next week or so, hopefully. I do have a question on sizing though. I am about 5'10"-5'11"(not exactly sure) and I'm right on the edge of the medium and the large. I fit perfectly on the medium demo 9, and that has a 23" top tube, but it had about a 70mm stem on it I think. So i'm thinking the large bullit with a 23.8" top tube will work out great for me with my 40mm stem. I'm planning on going up to whistler alot next year, and am going to be more freeride oriented rather than dh oriented(that's why i'm not shelling out the cash for a v-10 like i was originaly planning) Right now I'm riding a hardtail with a 22" top tube, and it feels a bit on the small side(great for tossing around though). Any ideas on what i should get? any info will help.

p.s. I am going to be throwing a 2002 super t on the front of it, and will eventually upgrade to either a 888 or a shiver. not sure if that will make a difference with what size to go with or not, but who knows.

I am 6' tall, and I use the integrated stem on my '03 Super T so it's like 50mm long, and I have a large. I like to do all kinds of riding, and I love my large. If you're into freeride, I'd suggest a medium, but at your height, it is a tough call. If you're going to upgrade to a bigger fork, I'd lean toward Medium as well. If you're only doing lift-serviced riding though, I'd get a large. It's for the pedaling part that I'd suggest a medium. It sucks to pedal a bike that's too big for you.

by the way, if there's anyone in the ballard/seattle area with a medium or a large bullit, it would be awesome if i could test ride it. that would really help me out a bunch.

I'm not in Seattle, I'm in the 'Ham. But if you went to Downhill Zone (which I would if I was buying a new Bullit), they should be able to hook you up with some test rides. They're awesome, I just ended up buying mine "used." They offered me sizing advice, and said that if I didn't like the size they recommended for me that they would gladly exchange it for the other size. Also, they sometimes give deals (especially if you're in the market for a floating brake adapter (or other parts), which you should be with that bike - wish I had one). Check them out, seriously.

The Bullit I had was a medium and i'm 6ft. That being said i used the bike for free riding, now that i'm racing dh i'm on a Large Gemini.I would definetly try to test ride different sized bikes before you make that kind of investment.

So am I. I went with a large, and love it. I've got a Sherman up front,
and use this bike for XC, and DH. Bullitt's RULE!

in a single wide, cooking meth...
Chiming in a little late, but I just wanted to tell ya I think the the Large frame will work swimmingly...I'm 5'11" and ride a Large for both DH racing, FR sessions, and even some XC trailriding (hard to avoid where I live)...As you prolly know, SC's have short seat tubes as compared to other manufacturer's frames of like sizes...Seems that SC measures the seat tube length from the center of the BB shell to the top of the seat tube (unlike most frames where they measure from the middle of the BB shell to where the top tube is welded to the seat tube) - so in essence, SC bikes tend run a little small...Although, their top tube lengths seems to be very similar to the industry standard...All in all, I absolutely love the feel of the SC cockpit (now that sounds a bit erotic, no?)...My Large has that smallish feel to it for jumping and hucking, but long enough for stable DH performance and decent pedaling...I run mine with a DC Shiver and the 70 mm integrated stem - feels perfect...So much so in fact, that I'm prolly going to sell my Large Marin Wolfridge trailbike and get a Large Heckler...The Large Marin has more traditional 'large frame dimensions' and it just feels a little unwieldy for even light FR and jumping (frighteningly enough, it reminds me of my old GF Sugar XC race bike - and that is not a good thing), and I've pedaled around on a Large Heckler and it feels very similar to my Bullit - which is a good thing...

All that said, I have ridden a medium Bullit and didn't detect much difference from mine...But that was just pedaling around the parking lot...Regardless, I think you're going to be one happy monkey...Congrats...

Good choice on frame there :o)

I'm about 5 foot 11 and a half, I ride a medium. I'm running 04 JrTs with a 60mm stem, but I'm going to swap it for a 70mm very soon. I reckon it'll be perfect then.

My brother is near enough 6-foot dead on and he also rides a medium. He's slightly shorter in the body than me (but with longer legs) so he's perfectly happy with the medium plus 60mm stem. He's currently on some 04 Z1s but will soon be upgrading to some 150mm 05 Z1s.

Both of us are really glad we bought mediums. The shop tried to convince us both to get large, but we both like slightly shorter bikes with more standover.

Like the others have said, if you can, get some test rides. Its all down to personal preference of course, but some time on either size would help a lot.

Man, Im 5'7" and I feel the med. Bullit is fine with a 70mm stem. I guess with a slack seat tube the higher the saddle the longer the actual seat tube is. My saddle is fairly low.

im 6'2" and had a medium bullit for awhile and the thop tube started to feel a little on the short side so i switched to a vp free which has a 23"ish tt and that feels way better.

iam 6ft and had a med w/ 80mm stem(long), great for tight trails and jumping, a little small for high speed and climbing. I think I would try a large now with a short stem if I was gonna get another one.

shorter bikes are better for tricks.

I'm 5'-7" and have a small Bullitt and Heckler. I prefer smaller sized frames, they are better for tossing around like a BMX bike. In BMX a 22" top tube is called pro xxxlong.
If you just want the bike for riding up hills and xc you might prefer the larger size.

i have a large and i am 5' 11" and i like the large. it fills a little big just ridin around, but on trails it is percet. i also fill that you will adapte to the large or the meduim frame. But for freeriding i would get the medium frame.

and it weighs 8 pounds together
