So they figure that the lobsters are going to be somehow better off getting boiled at a factory then in someone's kitchen.

Generally, the companies that process and freeze seafood are located at the ports themselves, or at least near them. So yes, i do believe that most of the time, the lobster and crabs are frozen within a day of being caught and brought to port.

That's why I said that I found just a few that will overnight lobsters that are only a couple days from the sea. Most lobster that everyone gets is many weeks out of the ocean, sitting in holding tanks (If your lucky), or more commonly, held on dry ice.DRB said:

Their fish department has that horible fish stink to it. You're much better off going to Trader Joe's for fish, cheese and wine.
