I haven't posted on this thread before because I actually do know Chrissey Pinney.

I haven't seen in 2 years and I wouldn't call her a friend.

And yes, I agree with your complaint and I know posting your story in this forum works, because I have used it before for a friend and he got most of his money back.

I hope you get your money back, and this thread has pretty much destroyed her reputation, in the mountain bike world and with anyone who decides to google her name.

But I have read numerous misogynist insults which has nothing to do with her ripping you off or you getting your money back. And now I have noticed vague threats towards her safety, which no woman deserves and won't get your money back.

In comparison, if you looked at my thread about OGDMFG, not one person offered to "visit him" or insulted him beyond the fact that he ripped off my friend. And the only two differences between these two cases is that the amount Jason lost was almost 3 times more and that Jeremy is a man.

I can't stop idiots from insulting Chrissie. Unfortunately, she chose join this website and rip people off, so she will have to learn the hard way there are a lot of assholes in the world looking for an excuse to be douchebags.

But only legal and moral action besides TeamSpeeDH can physically do is ignore her and not to business with her.

as teamsdh is saying it, I would hate myself too. but let me explain my side...

anyone who knows me closer knows that I have been dedicated heart and soul to the sport for the past 3 plus years. yes my dad has suffered MANY injuries which has left our family with extremely low funds.

this hurts to say because it is a very open wound of my life, but hopefully it sheds some light. my family has raised me of the mormon faith, but this last winter when I confessed it was not the religion I would be a part of, they decided to kick me out of my home and take away the bikes I race on.

when chris and I negotiated, I was all for racing out this season and many seasons to come. I did not disappear as soon as I received the gear. I attempted to race fontana, along the way my bf's truck brokedown. I raced several bmx races, which I sent chris many photos of my winning in full representation. I managed to make it to a cccx with help of borrowing a bike. after that I could not borrow the bikes any longer...

the reason why chris received an angry phonecall was because he called my grandfather in assisted living and my mother at 3 in the morning. he also contected my father a few times but my dad paid no attention until he learned that chris had been calling my mom twice a day everyday. that would leave any husband angry. my fathers call had nothing to do with me. I didn't even know he had until after.

I have also apologized to chris over email and promised to send everything back. the bikes I raced on were taken away under a personal reason and I have no funds because I am saving for college.

I never intended to steal. I will mail everything back with my apology.

It's just business and nothing personal once it's worked out both parties can move on. We simply will not tolerate this kind of thing anymore. Back in the late 90's and early 2000's riders were begging to get on teams and showed it by contributing as much as possible when they joined, like I did with this team. Now it seems there's nothing but "fly by nighters" that put it little effort compared to what they're given. When those riders learn those values then they'll make progression in the sport. Look at any top freerider or pro like Aaron Chase for example. He works his tail off to keep things going and before he was picked up by Cannondale he worked very hard sending resumes out and riding every day building his skill to what it is today.
Our goal was to have a successful team of riders that would build it up and keep it going, anyone remember Team Global Racing from about 5+ years ago?

Now to set some things straight here in your post. First off your problems were never in question, because we all have them. Whats in question is your lack of communication and purposeful avoidance of any contact with me after reeciving all your items beside that BMX race. I can say that because I've tried getting a hold of you for almost 3 months with phone calls, e mails ect to no avail.

Which brings me to my next point about your grandfather which I've already explained to you a few times before and that is that, it was the # that came up with the address you gave me to send the items. I HAD NO IDEA WHO WOULD ANSWER THE PHONE.

That was IT and I never called him again and the reason I had to go through all this and involve your family at THAT address is because you were avoiding us, see what I mean now.
If you had contacted me and told me what was going on and had some idea's what we could do then things would have been different but not at this point and what I've been through just to get in touch with you to figure things out.
And your items are your's, they're custom made and direct for the factory, don't send them to me because I have no use for them. also since they are used they cant be sent back to the factory because their opened.
I am currently looking into opening a case with small claims, so keep them for now.
One last thought... I don't hate you or wish harm on you, but you have to take responsibilities for your actions and work things out.

I contact what turned out to be your mother at that time (3AM) because the grandfather informed me that was the best time to reach her since she works at night. And again ONLY to get in touch with you and nothing else, claims of harassment and the like are simply bogus since I only called a few times in a calm manner to resolve things but got the run around for weeks instead.
When I asked her to give me your new contact info... she refused so what else is a person to do?

I would venture to say that virtually all comments were, though tasteless, joking and not posted in any way that should be taken seriously.

See what I mean? I explain one thing and then you come around the back door with something else, there seems to be no logic to this. And I never threatened anything, I told her the lien might be an option since that was the legal address that everything was sent to.
Playing pretty? No it's called being professional and patient to resolve the matter at hand, I've been VERY calm and understanding through this whole thing, I never once yelled at anyone or lost my temper.
Don't you understand it's your actions or lack there of that caused this? All I'm doing is recovering lost goods, thats it. It's got nothing to do with yours or mines personal matters or "grudges" please understand that Chrissie.
And I said I was going to peruse the matter until it was resolved not threaten to take you to jail or have you arrested. And for the bmx race, I was never told it was an actual race, more the idea it was you and some friends hanging out to do a photo opp. And I never received any kind of follow up description about the event to put on the site to go with it, just a few small pics of you on a 26in BMX bike.
I'm not trying to be harsh but if you're going to mention something make sure it's the full detail.

It would do more than salvage it. It would definitely be a step in the right direction and would show that, yes, even though she made a mistake she was willing to make things right.

Regardless of the reasons for actions, the lack of communication is not only frustrating and raises a lot of suspicion on your end about these events, but also wasn't the right way to handle things. There's nothing that can be done now to change the events that have transpired, but trying to reconcile the situation without getting involved in the legal system would be greatly to your benefit. Dealing directly with your (former) team will be far less detrimental to your future in biking, and life in general. Something like this (if it became a matter of the courts) would show up on a background check for a job.

Bottom line, everyone makes mistakes. I've made PLENTY in my life. What's crucial is how you handle the outcome of a situation and what you learn from it. If you handle things properly, people will see that ok yea, you made a mistake, but ultimately you made things right (which will be far less detrimental to your reputation).

I will be pretty disturbed if this thread gets deleted, even if a resolution comes to pass.

Potential sponsors and employers have the right to know if you've been dishonest in your dealings with someone within the industry that you will no doubt use as a reference in the future.

I run a small team, if I saw this after receiving an application to race for us next season from Chrissie I would laugh my ass off and toss her application. She refuses to take even the smallest iota of personal responsibility in this matter, citing what amounts to some BS family drama. We all have family drama, its called becoming an adult.

I for one ask this thread stays up, and gets moved into a sticky position in the Scammers section until a full resolution acceptable to TeamSpeedDh alone is reached.

Then I think it should stay up, let it serve as both a warning not to do business with her and as a model of how not to act in the small fetish community that is mountain biking.

- its not custom like he's been saying. I have gotten a jersey with my last name on the back in iron on letters. other than that they were all standard stock items.

- some stuff was sent to me without my knowing it was being sent until it arrived on my doorstep.

- some stuff is still in its original packaging as I have told teamsdh. both unharmed and unused.


on the other hand I have been advised by local authority that this is a harassment case, and the best way to deal with it is to send everything back and wash my hands clean of it. There was no contract or formal agreement of any kind between tsdh and myself. There was no specific agreement and/or reparation breach.

with that said, any legal action that I will take against tsdh will be taken between us two. Many preach about responsibility and how immature I am, but online slander is apparently the high road to take.

Slander is a tricky subject - incidentally, and for your own information, it's not "slander" if it's written, it's libel - and truth is an absolute defense in libel cases where a reasonable right to privacy has not been invaded. So far, you have not significantly denied any of Chris's claims.

Your response demonstrates a complete lack of personal responsibility. Up until this point, I had simply thought it was a lousy situation but that all you had to do was own up to it and much of what I had to say would be invalid. Now I realize what kind of person you are. Too bad, but on the other hand, at least it came out into public light.
