How the f*** does he do it?

Bush Library Raises $100 Million in 100 Days

George W. Bush has often said that historians will vindicate his presidency. And since he left office, he's been moving fast to give them the tools.

Longtime financial backers of the 43rd President have raised more than $100 million for a presidential library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas that will house his official papers, sources close to Bush told TIME. Much of the money was collected in the 100 days or so since Bush left the White House, a pace much faster than that of his recent predecessors. At least so far, none of it has come from overseas, the sources said.

This library is going to be different. You don't show up to read books, you bring your own then burn them.

What's really scary is that isn't just a "legacy" to Bush. He plans on creating his own policy center, which spreading more of the Bush Doctrine.

Doesn't matter how big or fancy his library is, history will not be kind to him or his administration.

At first read, my reaction is "SO?" He's the first President to raise obscene amounts of $$ for what is essentially a monument to his ego?

List of Iraq/Afgan contractors??

Any worse than this?
Bill Clinton's presidential library raised more than 10 percent of the cost of its $165 million facility from foreign sources, with the most generous overseas donation coming from Saudi Arabia, according to interviews yesterday.

The royal family of Saudi Arabia gave the Clinton facility in Little Rock about $10 million, roughly the same amount it gave toward the presidential library of George H.W. Bush, according to people directly familiar with the contributions.

Or this?
The former wife of fugitive financier Marc Rich contributed about $400,000 to the Clinton presidential library, legal sources tell TIME. This revelation is likely to deepen suspicions of congressional investigators looking into the controversial pardon given to Rich by President Clinton — that Denise Rich's financing of Clinton political and personal projects influenced his decision to give amnesty to her ex-husband.

Point is, what's so different this time? They all are sell outs. Obama will do the exact same thing, however, this is hope he could change for:

Obama has introduced legislation that would require disclosure of all contributions to presidential libraries, including Clinton's, and Congress has actively debated such a proposal. Unlike campaign donations, money given to presidential libraries is often done with limited or no disclosure.

Think I don't know this is business-as-usual?

Well, like many, I hated Clinton, and he was not able to raise $100 mil in a year.

I'm not that surprised Bush raised the dough, but just in a short period of time.

Halliburton could have paid for the whole thing, it just makes Bush look bad if they did.
