.:585:.
Had a decent birthday / father's day weekend. Hung with some friends, drank some (probably too many) brews, ate fatty foods, and rode my bike. And, now for my son's birthday dinner today. Ugh I think I gained at least 5lbs this weekend.

Morning Monkeys.

Boy did I do it this weekend. Damn. Was trying to do a quick trim on a piece of aluminum when my cutting wheel kicked and nicked my left thumb.

@Toshi I have good range of motion, but I no longer go quite past vertical. I was referred to a hand surgeon. My question is risk vs reward? Is there chance it could end up worse, or just get it done and suck it up.

My out of pocket has been reached, so it's covered.

Had a pretty good weekend. Was nice to ride with @StiHacka and @w00dy . I don't think my frame is destroyed, but a crack is not confidence inspiring regardless. Put a bid on a replacement mainframe (it's like it was meant to be) and I might bid on another frame just for shits. I don't want to shell out too much cash but I can't afford to have my headtube come off unexpectedly.

I’d go to the hand surgeon, @jimmydean . Hands are important for quality of life.

I am lazing around still. Going to drop off Yuna at gymnastics camp and then swing over to @Nick ‘s later to pick up a bike he is graciously lending to me while my Shuttle is MIA during its warranty claim.

Monday morning work annoyance and aggravation are in full swing. I took Friday off and shit blew up while I was out, all over an issue that was not even an issue. I fucking hate people whose first reaction is to panic and make noise when they think something is wrong, rather than take a few minutes to actually think through an issue. A consultant called her boss, my boss, my boss's boss, and eventually I got called, all because this dumbfuck of a consultant couldn't just re-sort an Excel file. God dammit!

Damn @IAB, sounds like my day to day. The FTE that has no idea what is going on has an average of 3 fire drills a day. Her mistake or misunderstanding leads to panic emails and frantic WebEx calls. Then he usually wants to file a bug because she thinks it isn't her issue.

Fun weekend. Got to enjoy some sun, drink beer and ride bikes.

Thought I had broken the new rear hub on Friday though. Took the highline through a banked turn and absolutely cased the crap out of a huge root. The hub sounded like it had a busted pawl or something in it after and it wouldn't coast very freely when pushing the bike on flat ground. Ended up hitting another root later on and it all went back to normal??

Had a 'first' moment in the car yesterday too. While merging onto the freeway, on a very short onramp, I accidently shifted from 2nd to 5th. That was a little butt puckering when the engine suddenly had no power.

Yeah this. Having broke my thumb and not being able to use it for almost two months, certain things became difficult. I wouldn't ever want to live without proper thumb mobility. Even simple things like wiping your ass or opening a jar of pickles without a working thumb becomes either time consuming or just not doable. :busted:

Mornin!

Gonna go into Seattle and play tourist for the day, which is appropriate, since that's what we are. Not looking forward to trying to find parking for this boat however. :fie:

Almost got sideswiped in Rainier by a bus that crossed several feet into my lane coming around a blind corner. WTF is with bus sized vehicles and their horrendous drivers?

After swapping star ratchets on one set of my DTs I try to leave them alone as much as possible. They are simple but also devious creations, and pieces like to scuttle along the floor after jumping out.

Cheyenne Mtn Zoo today. Wifey decided it would be a fucking wonderful idea to bring the 18m old along to the zoo with the 7 & 10 y/o's. I also get to spend the next 4 fucking hours carrying said child and/or pushing her stroller ladden with child and shit because everyone else is dealing with the other kids. Glad I'm totally paying for daycare, whether Hannah is there or not.

Avoid downtown. No parking, nothing worth seeing except homeless. Alki, Ballard, Fremont, Cap hill all better options IMO. Hollah if you want to grab a beer.

Parked at the Zoo, gonna catch an uber in to see the glass museum and marketplace. Driving into the city made me want to detour off a bridge and into the water.

Sending you a PM.

Also, you k ow you are in a good area when they have literal streets signs discussing the ramifications of prostitution. That's a first.

Was wondering where my new Magura brakes are. Checked the DHL tracking number, and it seems they have been stuck in Customs for a week. Customs does not provide a level of service estimate. On their site, they essentially say "it takes as long as it takes - deal with it". Boo Customs. I want my new brakes.

Up at 4:45 and pedaling by 5. Sometimes this gets me all charged up for the day. Others, it whips my ass and I'm exhausted all day. I'm in column B today.

Finally got some spare minutes to take out the zip ties on the bumper.

Ghetto level v2.0 reached. Let's see how long this duct tape lasts. Wouldn't need it if the same end of the bumper cover didn't rip off.

Fun fact, I live about 10 blocks up the street from the zoo.
