hey all, i started out with a silverfox bad attitude bike which i got for the lowly sum of £100. But after i got into dirtjumping and downhilling the bike is completely mashed; bent frame, snapped rear mech, buckled wheels, broken brakes, and I only weigh 8 1/2 stone by the way =P

So I've got £400 to go towards a proper DJ bike. I've had my eye on the Mongoose Fireball 2007, aswell as the Giant 2007 STP 2 as a cheaper alternative. Are these bikes any good? Any other reccomendations? The highest price i can go is £400.

Thanks in advance

Out of those two? STP. Have you taken a look at kona and specialized as well? P series and dirt jump series. The kona's especially are very versatile bikes.

i cant find any kona's or specialized within my £400 budget, and i dont want to buy second hand.

So is the STP 2 really better than the fireball? or is it just becuase the fireball isnt a good bike?

Mongoose Fireball 2007

Giant 2007 STP 2

These are the two bikes i'm looking at.

I was in sort of the same boat a year ago, mine is beat but I would look at a DK Xenia... it lasted a year for me and I can't complain.

Alright thanks all, so I've decided if I can only save £400 ish, I'll get a Giant STP1 2007 or a Mongoose Fireball 2007, if I can get hold of extra money I'll get the Specialized P1 2007
