Hey all, I know everybody is probably headed to Fontucky for the race this weekend, but I am driving the opposite direction for my college's senior week over at Mission Beach. I'm planning to bring my bike down to ride Noble Canyon, hopefully monday, and I'd love to meet up with some of you all since I don't know the trails.

Anybody going to be around? That or hook me up with some decent directions.

You start out in alpine meadows and oak trees that transitions into typical Southern California chaparral and finally the arid desert climate near the Anza-Borrego desert

Since when is Pine Valley the "arid desert climate near the Anza-Borrego desert"??

You have never ridden there. If you had, you would have positive information to supply to the community and to Skatetokil. Rather than being a poopy pants!

Yes, I do not know who you are or where or care where you have or have not ridden.:nopity:

I can give directions, I grew up in Pine Valley. From Mission Beach hit I-8 east (which is about the only 8 you can hit from Mission Beach). You'll go about 45mins-1 hr east depending on how fast you drive. If you end up in Arizona, you've gone too far and are probably bankrupt from gas money.

You'll pass Alpine and Viejas and keep going up about another 20 to 30 mins.

If you're dropping a car off at the bottom, you want to get off at the Pine Valley exit (Pine Valley Rd.), when you come off the off-ramp, hang a left and follow the road down until it T-s into Old Highway 80. You'll need to get a forest adventure pass, so first hang a right and head over to the Pine Valley Store. The guy at the counter will gladly hand one over in exchange for $5.00.

If you're not dropping a car off, get off at the Sunrise Highway Exit (should be the next one after Pine Valley) and take a left.

From where you are at there, the directions noslogan linked sould get you there.

I am down. I will throw you some gas money too. We still need a second vehicle though . . .

I have been up there twice and do not really know the drive up too well (asleep ;)) but I remember how the trail goes, I think.

actually, I rode it today. . . me and one other guy shuttled in our crappy cars because the guy I had hoped would drive had his truck die. sorry I didn't get back to you, but it was a bit spur of the moment and we didn't really have any space to spare. Another time perhaps. I have some other buddies from LA who are dying to come down.
