The worst I've gotten so far has been 9.8mpg, but that was doing 80 down the freeway in Utah. Generally it's closer to 12-14mpg. Not great, but it's fine as it's not an everyday driver. The diesel would have gotten us better mileage, but people are really charging a premium for the 7.3 these days. What kind of mileage does a v10 get?
The difference between actually going somewhere, instead of around the block...The worst I've gotten so far has been 9.8mpg, but that was doing 80 down the freeway in Utah. I haven't checked the milage in Frita yet, but I have heard 18 to 22 mpg with the 4BT. Not bad considering it's as aero as a brick. The worst I've gotten so far has been 9.8mpg, but that was doing 80 down the freeway in Utah. Generally it's closer to 12-14mpg. The 7.3 is such a great motor. I ran mine on B99 and it was quiet and smooth with gobs of power bone stock.Sounds similar to the one that's caught my eye, but it has the 7.3 powerstroke.
Got a feeling it's sold and the seller just hasn't removed the CL ad.The 7.3 is such a great motor. I ran mine on B99 and it was quiet and smooth with gobs of power bone stock.
Nice but once you factor in tow vehicle that matches the trailers off-road ability you may as well get an earthroamer and forgo the trailer headaches.
will you update your forum signature to include "sent from my mobile monocle palace" when you are on the road?Brotrailer...
Gave up on the Porsche. I want a Tesla now.but a porsche yes?
Have you seen GFF's new Jeep?Nice but once you factor in tow vehicle that matches the trailers off-road ability you may as well get an earthroamer and forgo the trailer headaches.

Is there a bigger version that's a little clearer?View attachment 133972
I totally stole this, it is almost my exact setup minus the lithium. Once I get the passenger side framed, I will start on electrical.
Have you looked into a DC-DC charger? Something like the Sterling 50a units? You could then go with a smaller solar array and get a custom charge profile for your batteries.I totally stole this, it is almost my exact setup minus the lithium. I already have the 200A isolator, otherwise the DC to DC would be considered. The 40A is $200, same as I paid for my isolator.Have you looked into a DC-DC charger? Something like the Sterling 50a units? You could then go with a smaller solar array and get a custom charge profile for your batteries.
I stole it off a blog, it's actually an interactive map that is very cool.Is there a bigger version that's a little clearer?
Will you be able to make Old Bay Chicken Wings with a Air Fryer with your system?I already have the 200A isolator, otherwise the DC to DC would be considered. The 40A is $200, same as I paid for my isolator.
With 400w and 400Ah of AGM, I hope to have enough juice. I got a 175A alternator because why not.
I am using a step up converter for the laptop so now ALL my loads are 12v currently. I will still have the inverter charger, but it seems like it will be more for shore power than inversion.
Yes, my inverter supports my air fryer and the wife's instant pot, not at the same time. I am trying to show her that I can store the pizza oven in an outside luggage bin and it totally fits on the counter for use. Will you be able to make Old Bay Chicken Wings with a Air Fryer with your system?
The pizza oven is useful in cooking casseroles and most sausage meats also...Yes, my inverter supports my air fryer and the wife's instant pot, not at the same time. I am trying to show her that I can store the pizza oven in an outside luggage bin and it totally fits on the counter for use.
This is why I am putting a 10" sub under my seat. TBO, it isn't all that loud at speed. Once I insulated the cab, it will be even quieter.Best just install it for the living space, as you won’t be able to hear shit while tumbling along at freeway speeds.
A reasonable solar array on top of a camper might be 1 kW. A reasonable output over a day from a 1 kW array might be 5 kWh.Don’t know where to put this, but I am thinking about one of these in a few years.
Think it could realistically tow a camper for more than 250 miles, and then charge with solar?
I guess I can dream...

Electric drivetrains are very efficient already. Barring some radical aerodynamic and lightweight design like the stillborn Aptera that maybe would be an order of magnitude more efficient, conventional-ish electric vehicles will be of similar efficiency as those seen today.THAT is about the best excuse for camping for 20 days that I have ever heard. I was *sorta* kidding about the solar charge, but my dream for an electric truck is to be able to drive to Moab (400 or so miles), and camp in the desert for a few days. Maybe in ten years...
I will be camping at Flagg (in the middle of a 150 mile ride) this June 22, I will try and track him down and say hi.This is ranger Appleby's rig. He lives in Flagg at Grand Teton NP. good friend of mine
