I seem to go through botoom brackets quit a bit. I was using the external bearings GXP style than went back to Truvativ ISIS FR/DH bottom bracket. Can I purchase new bearings with buying a whole new bottom bracket again? If there are replacable bearings any suggestions on good ones.

there are replacement bearings for external BBs. not sure about the Truvative size, though, as their external bb bearings are not the same size as FSA, Shimano, and Race Face.

as for ISIS, some are replaceable, some aren't. probably be cheaper just buying a new bb.

Yes you can replace them I would just take to LBS and tell them you just want to replace the bearings. Phil Wood makes nice replacement bearings that are servicable. LBS should have the tool to remove old bearings and replace with new ones. Dont know if you can do it without the tools though.

I can't say about internals, but Shimano/Raceface external bearings can be replaced with Phil Wood's replacement bearings. I did it and I am very satisfied.

However, most shops, including Phil Wood dealers, do not carry the tools necessary to replace the bearings (mine does, of course). I would call around before doing something....
