I have shimano LX brakes headed onto my hardtail and shimano XT brakes headed onto my trail bike. The hose on the LX brakes is the perfect size for the trailbike, and the hose on the XT brakes is the perfect size for the HT. I only have one brass ferule/olive left. Can I swap the hoses and have faith that my lines will be leak free? I know you're SUPPOSED to replace the olive every time, but I'm lazy and cheap. I've removed and installed lines before without problems, but never quite so complex.
