Is it possible to buy the individual 888wc, chromed stanchion? Somehow I've managed to knick mine right above the seals, and its starting to leak. Not quite to the puking oil level a couple of my friend's are at, but close.

Not sure, but you could try the nail polish trick.
Clean the nick with alcohol or something.
Fill in the nick with nail polish, any color will do.
Once its dried polish it down with an emery board.
Works really well, learned it from one of the Fox tech's a few years back, I now keep the stuff standard in my toolbox.

Did that on another 888 this season for a friend.
I'm of the opinion that it does not work well enough.
Mind you it was crappy nail polish and I didn't take enough time to do it justice, but I'd rather skip all that crap and buy another leg for my much beloved 888.

Is there a huge difference between the 04 - 06 and the 2007 on models when it comes to the legs?
If you mean the stanchions, then no. If anything at all, the length might be a tiny bit different for the '06-'07 RC2X forks. Diameter and threading are the same though.
The lowers are all the same for the 35mm forks except in 2007 they went from IS to a post mount.
