Can you wheel experts check my calculations.

    Hey you expert wheelbuilders....the picture attached is the screenshot of the dt swiss spoke calculator. The rim I will use is the old mavic d321 rim mated to chris king iso disc hubs. The only section on this calculator that i am questioning is the "# of intersections" input for a 32 spoke wheel. Does this calculation look right?

    That thing is tough to read. Three cross wheels are the norm. I just built a wheel with that calculator and it worked out. If anything round up, if it gives you 1/10s of a mm.

    because your wheels are 32 hole the spokes will intersect 16 times 8 on each side. i have no idea why DT adds that in there, but its there. I may be wrong on what that means, but looking at it id assume thats what it is, try it with 36 and see if that 8 changes to a 9 if so my theory is right hehe. I dont use that spoke calc tho, i use the one on our shops copy of Bike'o'Log or i use the 6th Edition Sutherlands manual which isnt that up to date as far as rims and hubs these days.
