" Hello Everyone!

This past week we had the misfortune of having our East Coast Demo truck, trailer and bikes stolen, while visiting dealers in the Montreal, Canada area. We are forwarding this information globally because the bikes may turn up on Ebay or through another unauthorized channel. The hotel was near a major shipping container port so the bikes may be headed overseas.

The items stolen included:

1) The truck is a Metallic Beige 2004 Chevy 3500 Double Cab
2) A Pace 36ft. Goose-Neck Trailer with Cannondale branding and Thule racks.
3) The 29 bikes listed below and their Serial Numbers
4) The driver's personal Red Ducati Monster 900 motorcycle.

Below is a list of the bikes and serial numbers that were on this truck. If you happen to locate one of these bikes or see a strange advertisement that may be in regards to these bikes, please contact Andy Schiffer or myself as soon as possible.

Please pass this information on to other people within the industry and we will be doing the same.

Thank you so much!

Yeah, apparently this is why they only had a small handful of demo bikes at Pedrosfest.
They didn't replenish the demo truck in 30 days? Weird.

Insurance usually waits 30 days before paying out for a stolen vehicle since most will show up in that time frame if they are ever going to be found.

Now for the bikes you would think they would have a few laying around.

It is a lot of jack, and I understand them not doing it. I likely wouldn't throw a bunch of them back in a truck anyway after it happened once. I wonder if they are self-insured even. A lot of big companies are.

Wow Canada is scary.
Montreal, baby. Hells Angels run the town.

Well, the criminal part, anyway.

In Canada, they're above the Mafia, Russians, etc. Most organized. A truck like this is probably something they do for recreation.

I'm surprised they could drive the truck very far, considering that it probably only has suspension on one side....

I hate freaking scumbag crooks. It is an absolute shame that these aholes have finally figured out mountain bikes are worth big bucks. I guess we are all a little bit to blame though. Manufacturers advertising list prices, Our need to sell stuff on e-bay, and our down right bragging in public how much our ride is worth. It was just a matter of time. No excuse for stealing, but I liked it so much more when they were busy stealing hub caps. We have gone so far in our shop to not tag the expensive bikes and not give pricing to anyone we know aint really in need of a bike. I hate to say it but maybe it is time for ownership titles and insurance?
