I have a large lack of experience with cannondales with this axel. It slides from the side with the floating brake and threw the hub, but i put it through as far as it will go but still sticks out a little but. Im not sure if it should do this. Should it? its a little less than an inch sticking out but i dont think it will go any further. And the floating brake, the actual rod has play in it where it connects in both spots. Should this also be happening? thanks... any help would be awesome.

price, it's ovalized pro. pull the floating brake off then you'll get it.
