Hi,

I'm planning to make my perp more fun to ride. I want a 160mm fork in the front and a air shock in the rear.
Chris Van Dine from The Cut rides with a perp with 160mm front travel. I think they did a little correction of a few mm's on the rear shock to prevent f*cking up the geometry.

Does anyone knows how it's possible to mount a FOX 36 without any negative geometry thingies?

Thanks in advance!

If you want to keep the original geometry with a 160 mm fork, you'll need a shorter eye to eye shock. To figure out how short, you'll need to pass a geometry class and remember what the heck the teacher was talking about (so I can't help you there).

My friend is running an 8 inch Boxer on his. He loves it and says the bike is incredibly maneuverable. Rides like a trail bike but w/ a dual crown fork. He'll be racing it @ the Open this weekend. That'll be his first day on lifts with it....

Hey.

I ride a 2008 Perp with a FOX float 36 Rc2. I use this setup for light DH racing and all around having fun. The bike is very light/maneuverable and feels good on all but the roughest sections. I run it in the 7" setting most of the time. I do feel as if the bike rides better in the 8" setting however. I use a bit more spacers under the stem to bring the bars up.

So there won't be anything like a bad geometry?

What is the weight of the perp like the picture?

You will definitely need a shorter eye and I have no idea how short it will need to be, sorry.
