Why is this camera almost 1,000 more at Amazon than at BH Photo?

It's because it's not being sold by Amazon. "In Stock. Ships from and sold by Pavilion Electronics."

Just some electronics place charging a premium because they think they'll get it.

a guy i know has been making decent coin using 10% coupons @ best buy on cameras as they come in, and then turning them around for a small premium over the 2700 MSRP.

i won't get my year-end bonus for another month or so, and hopefully supplies will be normal by then if i decide to get one.

i avoid amazon "zShops" like the plague. they don't have the same policies as amazon: no super saver shipping, more stringent return policies, and one bike-related zShop sold me a clearly old-stock if not used product as new.

i bought my 5D MkII kit through amazon.com proper and it was $3499.99 before tax.

Funny thing about Amazon is they would only show results from these crappy stores in the regular search. I managed to find the Amazon version, put my order in, and they delivered it more than a month earlier than the original shipping estimate. Sweet!

its called a "portal store." like others said, its not actually Amazon selling it. typically in my industry these companies can either destroy a products M.A.P. or itll be ridiculously high.

we hate these companies btw

one company has the body for $4k, plus $21 for shipping. youd think theyd hand deliver it w/ a high class escort to take pictures of.
