Like a Shimano BB, or something much older?

Typical bb in the 80's and earlier used the fixed cup/adjustable cup & lockring setup. The fixed cup had flats, the adjustable cup used a pin wrench, and the lockring tool looked like a crescent with a tooth facing in.

I actually want to remove both.

New octalink bottom bracket and cranks will go on in their place. Sorry for being a confusing dolt.

I got this one. It is hollow so it will work work with any length spindle. Octalink, isis and square taper are all the same, though. At least get an isis one as they are deeper and will work with more spindles.

The hollow part is a huge positive, especially dealing with 125mm and longer spindles (like on bikes with 150mm rear hubs).

Assuming this bike is of the modern era, it should use this BB tool. I recently bought a Phil Wood which uses a different tool, and if this an old road bike, find the oldest road shop to take the bb off.
