a couple weeks ago we got our computer cleaned and got everything ereased. since we have gotten it back we cant figure out how to get sound to come out of the speakers. as far as i can tell everything is wired up correctly, when you disconnect and reconnect the speakers from the audio jack ou can hear the speakers are on but if i was to watch a video i dont get any sound. i installed soundblaster and that didnt do anything, and yes i did check to make sure the mute was off. any ideas whats going on??

ha, did that too.
It's possible that they didn't install the audio drivers. However, make sure you have your speakers plugged into the Line Out or Headphone jack and not the Mic.
If you can rule out the physical connections I would go into the Device Manager and delete the audio driver and then restart the computer. The system should auto-detect your hardware and reinstall the drivers. What OS and do you know if its an external audio card or built-in?

click your sound thing and go to advanced properties make sure your wave isnt turned down.
