First let me wank about the ride we did yesterday! 32 miles w/ 5'000' of climbing. Was about ready to bust out the headlamp for the last mile or so. Great times, ready to do it again soon!
So my ? is how many horses can I expect when it opens up to them? Do they prefer some trails over others? Do they have events down there thay would draw more than the normal amout of riders?
Thanks

Go to the capitol forest link in my sig. Look for the trail map. The green trails are the ones horses are on in the summer. Red is moto. You can count on them being concentrated from Margret Mcinney up. The further you go up the less you see them. (same for moto heads, but they radiate from Middle Waddell) GL#6 and MMP#8 are favorites of the horse clans.

Also keep an eye on this website for other user group events. He was planning on linking info to let riders know when things like that are going on. Ive been out for rides where you could only ride 10 feet before a guy on a poker run went brappin by. Lucy for us it was at the last stretch of trail. Also one fine day when there was a horse rally of some sort we ended up bailing out on fireroad. Cap is always a crap shoot. Mud, Logging, Horses, ATV..... its always fun though.
